Camping with dogs

Arizona has perfect weather year round and plenty of camping options. Here are our recommendations for when taking your dog camping.

Sleeping

• Dog bed/blanket - After a few camping trips, it will become apparent if your dog and you prefer your dog to sleep on top of your sleeping bag or prefer to have their own bed and blanket in the tent

Eating and Drinking

• Dog Food & Treats - Bring an extra couple of meals in case you decide to extend your stay or something comes up
• 2 Bowls for food and water

Safety

• Collar with identification tag
• 2 dog leashes -  At many campgrounds, dogs are required to be on leash at all times. Bring your usual leash for walking, and a longer leash that will give your dog a little extra footage at the campsite
• Safety lights for night - Many dogs have great night vision, but the safety light helps other cars and people to see your dog at night
• Dog booties - If you live in especially hot areas, dog shoes are necessary to protect dog paws from the heat
• First Aid Kit - Hopefully you won’t need to use, but helpful to have on hand
• Printed picture of dog with your contact  information -  Safety precaution in case your dog gets separated from you
• Copy of vaccination certificates - In case a campground requests proof of your dog vaccinations

Hygiene

• Poop bags
• Baby wipes or towel

Misc

• Toys - Optional, but helpful to bring one or two
• Tick Repellent
